What is a pitch? Presentation conducted to potential investors where one can expand upon the ideas mentioned in a formal proposal. What makes a good pitch? Preparation  Practice presenting the pitch Facts and statistics  Knowledge of product Aim to connect with the investors  Visual and interactive presentations  Have a negation technique  Confidence  Demonstrating passion  Gather information about who your presenting to e.g. what they've invested in in the past and why. ALFILMS Objective ALFILMS' main objective is to promote up and coming low budget independent films as well as educating the public on budget film production. It aims to make the public think more deeply about film and all the effort that goes into the creation of it. Concept ALFILMS is a concept for a new film magazine which will aim to showcase up and coming indie films. It will include articles and guides about the latest budget films in London. The magazine will be distributed by vendors around Central London, particularly around alternative areas such as Camden Town and SoHo. The idea Once an outline/ idea/ concept has been treated for an original media product it needs to be documented so that the client can read about it. The proposal should cover the purpose of the media product together with the detail with the form (e.g. a magazine), genre (e.g. type of music), content, target audience, resources required and what distribution/ marketing methods (e.g. via social media, type of media used will depend on the target audience) will be used. The uses and gratification theory assumes audience actively seek out media which will satisfy their needs.
